eXtension surveys Galaxy participants

Many thanks go to the almost 700 participants who took the time to complete our survey at the recent Galaxy IV conference in Pittsburgh. We implemented the survey to gather information to help us plan for the future. Here are the highlights:
• Participants indicated that the top three content areas for mobile applications were: nutrition, volunteer development and personal finance.
• The top three areas of professional development webinar interest for survey participants were: emerging technology, using/measuring social media and using eXtension.
• Survey participants ranked eXtension tools in order of importance for their work in the following order: 1 – Learn (webinars), 2- Campus (online courses), 3- Ask an Expert, 4- Collaboration with Communities of Practice, 5 – 3-D Virtual Worlds (Second Life).
• Participants overwhelming agreed that eXtension should focus on providing content for public use, should be a cutting edge resource for CES and should enable CES educators to be more effective in their roles.
