The National eXtension Conference/National Extension Directors & Administrators joint meeting, March 24-27, 2014 will be a blockbuster week of speakers, presentations, networking, awards & recognition and more! A special BONUS workshop on social learning will be the capstone event for the conference.
Pre-sessions on social media & networking, marketing, and iFilmaking lead off a week of outstanding keynote speakers Dave Gray and Jane Hart, nearly 90 concurrent sessions, an opening reception featuring exhibits from Communities of Practice, Learning Networks, Innovation/Institutional Teams, and others; recognition of eXtension honorees and CES award winners. Wrapping up the conference is a special interactive experience with Jane Hart and Harold Jarche.
Hart and Jarche will lead all conference participants in a workshop entitled “Becoming a Social Learning Practitioner: Walking the Social Talk”.
“A Social Learning Practitioner is a learning professional who encourages, enables and supports knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization – not just in training. He or she is a role model, leading the way by showing the business what it is to be social, and modeling the new knowledge sharing and collaboration behaviors that are required for the modern business to operate effectively in the modern world,” said Hart.
In this workshop, Hart and Jarche will look at some practical ways to help promote network thinking, the use of social tools and services for professional development, as well as to improve collaboration and sense-making.
Jarche, a key presenter in eXtension’s 2010 Virtual Conference, has been described as “a keen subversive of the last century’s management and education models”. He has consulted with AstraZeneca, CIGNA, ING Bank and the Canadian International Development Agency.
