eXtension Seeks Partner & Development Specialist

The eXtension Foundation is seeking an individual to design and implement strategies for external and internal partnerships and fund-development relationships. Outside of a longstanding and meaningful contact list of their own, the candidate will be able to identify and execute on unique business opportunities that exist in collaboration between Corporations, Foundations, and nonprofit organizations. In partnership with the Chief Executive Officer, this position is responsible for partnership development and the development of additional funding for eXtension and the Cooperative Extension System (CES). The successful candidate will assist the CEO to build new relationships to build impact and financial resources through co-creation with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
Develop new and additional internal and external partnerships using a long-term relationship approach with CES and eXtension Foundation, and cultivate opportunities for resource enhancement and co-creation of local impact. Focus on partnerships relative to the USDA Strategic Plan are expected.Actively work with the CEO and COO of eXtension to design and implement a comprehensive partnership and development strategy and plan with milestones and timeline. Have primary responsibility for development and execution of all proposals and letters of inquiry and all materials and communication needed for partnership development, fund development and follow-through. Monitor and report regularly on the progress to CEO and COO.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree (Masters Degree preferred)
3-5 years relate experience required
Possible travel
Demonstrated success in a development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources over time). Ability to build coalitions and networks of committed supporters. Ability to attract and build partnerships at all levels of CES. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with exceptional attention to detail; grant writing experience required. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work within tight deadlines. Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives.Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively and entrepreneurially engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside eXtension Foundation. High energy and passion for the mission of eXtension Foundation. Experience in a virtual, national or global team environment preferred.
