What is the change you are designing to achieve?

Workforce skill development for youth.
Longer term change will be to improve sustainable food production.

How will you measure that change?

Skills assessment for 10-12th grade students

What is the innovative component or strategy you will implement as a result of the design-a-thon?

Using drones in agriculture to engage youth in STEAM education

How did the design-a-thon help you?

This was a great opportunity to network and brainstorm ideas with expert informants to help me look at approaching a problem in different and innovative ways.

Victor Villegas, aka Drone Singer, presenting to 4H kids about drones in agriculture.

Our project is to educate youth about how drones are being used in agriculture and research and spark their interest in pursuing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) careers so they can help address  complex global issues, such as food production, and sustainability.
